Gorgeous American Painted Lady Butterfly In Our Yard On Cape Cod.

We’ve had more butterflies in our yard this fall than we had all summer. This American Painted Lady was enjoying these prolific, white Profusion Zinnias. (Click on blog link for other photo.)

I love the front view of her too. What a face! Have you seen a lot of these butterflies this fall?

“They Also Faced The Sea” In Provincetown On Cape Cod.

When you drive out on MacMillan Wharf and look over to Fisherman’s Wharf you are treated to “five larger-than-life black and white photographs of Provincetown women of Portuguese descent, mounted on a building at the end of Fisherman’s Wharf in Provincetown Harbor, and is conceived as a tribute to the Portuguese community and its fishing heritage.”

“They Also Faced The Sea” was installed by Ewa Nogeiec and is striking in its size and black and white nature. Its title embodies the Portuguese women as “mothers, wives, sisters, friends and family of fishermen, as cooks, laundresses, nurses, teachers and telephone operators.”

Waiting For Lunch At The Chatham Fish Pier On Cape Cod.

There were a few seals swimming about in the harbor by the Chatham Fish Pier hoping one of the fishermen would  throw them some fish. (Click on blog link for other photo.)

This guy was patiently waiting as you can see the load of fish they brought in. There must be at least one for this hungry guy!
