Pretty Blue Star Flower At The Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary

I saw this blue star-shaped wildflower just outside the Visitor’s Center at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary a few days ago. It was so pretty  but I have no idea what kind of wildflower it is.  I’ve looked in my wildflower books and searched on the internet, but to no avail.

Does anyone know what kind of wildflower this Is?? So pretty, don’t you think?

Unique Rock Art At Boat Meadow On Cape Cod

There are a lot more rocks at Boat Meadow Beach since the ferocious storms last winter. Someone got creative and made some cairns from the rocks. It was really pretty along the edge of the shore. (A cairn is a  pile of rocks or stones, usually used to mark the trails for hikers.) So it was pretty innovative to see them on the beach.

Cool, don’t you think?

Fishing Boats At High Tide At Rock Harbor On Cape Cod

It was high tide yesterday morning when I went for my early morning bike ride. The big old fishing boats were following the  channel markers at Rock Harbor on their way out to sea.

Rock Harbor has such an iconic view with the unique channel markers that resemble trees growing in the water.

I loved this photograph, what do you think?

Bladder Campion Wildflowers At Fort Hill On Cape Cod

Bladder Campion wildflowers are abundant along the trails at Fort Hill. I loved this  photograph where you can see the “bladder” so clearly. The  3/4″ white, lobed flowers bloom at night and on overcast days.

The Bladder Campions bloom from June through September, so you still have plenty of time to see them. Interesting wildflower, don’t you think?

Mom Bluebird Feeding Her Three Babies In Our Yard On Cape Cod

The bluebirds have all fledged and sure are hungry. You can hear their little peeps all day long as the moms fly in for the seed and then fly back and feed their young. Yesterday the little babies were all on a branch in a nearby tree.  Mom would  fly down for a seed and then fly back up to the branch and feed each one.

Today they all showed up at our bird feeders. Mom would get a seed and then fly feed each one as they sat there patiently.

It doesn’t get much cuter than this! What do you think?

Spectacular Day For Kayaking Nauset Marsh On Cape Cod

It was a glorious day… sunny with little wind and a perfect day to take our kayaks out on the water. We launched at Good Hummock in Orleans and paddled Town Cove to Nauset Marsh and then out along the outer beach to Nauset Spit. It couldn’t get any prettier!

We stopped for a bit to rest and had some lunch. There were a lot of boats in the water and many kayakers enjoying the day.  We took a different route back and paddled  in through Nauset Marsh, going by Fort Hill and Hemenway Landing. So beautiful…

It was definitely a “pinch me” day! 🙂
