I sure have been putting out a lot of sisal twine the past few weeks. The Baltimore Orioles especially love it. I followed one of them when they gathered the twine and discovered that they had woven a huge nest in our tree. Wow! (Click on blog link for other photo.)
The nest must he at least 15” deep and 8+” across. It’s huge! I bet they used almost a whole roll of twine! I hear them when they sing on a branch above the nest which is in the top of this tree in the photo. They have such a melodic song. I haven’t seen or heard any babies yet, but fingers crossed!
Looks like they’re hoping for a very big family!!!
