Yesterday on Cape Cod was just spectacular! The sun was shining and temps were warm and the beaches were gorgeous ! (Click on blog link for other photos.)
With Hurricane Erin 200 miles out at sea, we got the big waves and lots of wind… my kind of perfect day! I loved it!
I was so surprised at how many people were enjoying the beach yesterday afternoon. The tide was going out, so you could take a nice walk or just sit and enjoy all of nature’s beauty. Just beautiful…

From Thoreau’s Cape Cod (when cows were common?):
“We often love to think now of the life of men on beaches, at least in midsummer, when the weather is serene; their sunny lives on the sand, amid the beach-grass and the bayberries, their companion a cow, their wealth a jag of driftwood or a few beach-plums, and their music the surf and the peep of the beach-bird.”
