There Is So Much History At Coast Guard Beach.

When we took a walk down Coast Guard Beach last Friday, we saw so many things that were uncovered by the recent “king tides” and severe beach erosion. (Click on blog link for other random  photos of the artifacts on our walk.)

There were metal poles and a plastic pole sticking up out of the sand. Were they part of the old bathhouses that got washed away in the Hurricane of 1978?

There were many pieces of old wood near each other sticking out of the sand. Was there an old house here once? Or a dock? Or could it be an old boat that washed up on shore?

And the metal tube sticking out of the sand dune near the old entrance. What was it used for? It really made us start wondering… do you know any of the history of Coast Beach? It would be so much fun to share.

It was so cool to see all of these things and wonder about what they might have been… way back when.
