I’m sure these Double-Crested Cormorants think they have the perfect place to perch at Boat Meadow Beach. What could be nicer than airing your feathers while sitting on a beautiful little sailboat enjoying the gorgeous views… and watching all the fish swim by while thinking about which one will be lunch?
Hmmmm… I wonder if the owners of the sailboat have the same thoughts…
A silly poem to comfort the boat owner: 🙂
THE COMMON CORMORANT OR SHAG
Author Christopher Isherwood
The Common Cormorant or shag
Lays eggs inside a paper bag.
The reason you will see no doubt
It is to keep the lightning out.
But what these unobservant birds
Have never noticed is that herds
Of wandering bears may come with buns
And steal the bags to hold the crumbs.
