After shoveling most of Monday and then waking up Tuesday to more wind blown snow, we decided to “make lemonade out of lemons” and have some fun! (Click on blog link for other photos.)
We got our snowshoes that Phil had just put new straps on and hiking poles and put on our warmest clothes with gaiters to keep our feet dry and drove up to Fort Hill. It was just glorious with the sun shining and the views spectacular!
We hadn’t been snowshoeing since we lived in Colorado at least 15 years ago. It was like riding a bike and just so much fun! So glad Phil fixed those straps last week! Nothing like a lot of fun in the middle of a lot of snow!

Maybe your trek didn’t involve huskies, but there are similarities nonetheless. 🙂
From: The Call of the Wild by Robert Service
…Have you broken trail on snowshoes? mushed your huskies up the river,
Dared the unknown, led the way, and clutched the prize?
Have you marked the map’s void spaces,
…Then hearken to the Wild — it’s wanting you…
