The Paul Fulcher Memorial Bonfire at Nauset Beach in Orleans on Cape Cod last Saturday was an amazing event!
The bonfire was part of Orleans Pond Coalition’s “Celebrate our Waters” annual event. This entire event was held on Friday through Sunday. It was unbelievable! There were events for everyone… from museum tours to hikes to bird watching to sailing to paddle boarding or kayaking and boat tours of the harbor and much more. These events were all day and free!
We went down to Nauset Beach about 5:00 on Saturday evening and had a picnic on the beach while we listened to the Lower Cape Concert Band.
Over 3,000 people came to the bonfire which was lit just after dusk. It was so much fun and people were having a blast!
If you didn’t make it this year, put it on your calendar for next year and don’t miss Orlean’s “Celebrate our Waters.” It’s a great weekend event!
It was really low tide at Beach Meadows on Cape Cod. People were enjoying the huge beaches, while the sailboats were beached until the tide comes in again.
The kids were splashing and the boats were sailing at Great Pond at Wiley Park In Eastham on Cape Cod. There are also many trails to take a nice walk and enjoy some serenity!
Nauset Beach on Cape Cod was just gorgeous on Labor Day weekend. What a beautiful place to take a walk after dinner.
It seems like wherever you turn, you can see birds on Nauset Marsh on Cape Cod. This particular morning it was low tide and we could see the birds feeding along the shore. I loved their silhouettes.
So pretty, don’t you think?
The hike out to Great Island in Wellfleet on Cape Cod is very diverse. You hike on the marsh side of Wellfleet Bay, through the woods and then out on the expansive beaches. It is absolutely spectacular!
Have you ever hiked any part of Great Island in Wellfleet?
