Will Mother Nature Win… On Cape Cod Bay?

First Encounter Beach is in Eastham on Cape Cod Bay. You wouldn’t think that the dunes on the bayside would have that much erosion. (Click on blog link to see other photo.)

The high tides and rough seas have eaten away at these dunes the past few years, showing just how precariously close to the edge this house is. As you can see in the photograph at low tide, truckloads of huge boulders were brought in to keep the water away from the dunes.

Wow! It makes you wonder how long the houses near the edge will be able to withstand Mother Nature’s assault…

Spectacular Waves At Coast Guard Beach On Cape Cod!

Phil and I were taking a walk on Coast Guard Beach the other day when we noticed the waves were unbelievable. They were huge and crashing  so close to shore that you could see a curl where you almost expected a surfer to pop out!

We got a few photographs and then it was over in a matter of minutes. Gorgeous, don’t you think?

Unique Perspective Of Coast Guard Station On Cape Cod.

There just happened to be a large piece of driftwood standing up on end on Coast Guard Beach as we walked by the other day. And, if you looked through it at a certain angle, you could see Coast Guard Station.

I thought this photograph was so cool! It looks like it was framed by the driftwood. What do you think?
