Coast Guard Beach On Cape Cod… It Doesn’t Get Much Prettier!

Each time we go to the beach, this time Coast Guard Beach, it looks so different. Everything changes so much this time of the year. You could see how high the tide had come in recently. It’s all the way up to the dunes.

I loved this photograph looking down Coast Guard Beach toward Nauset Spit. The sky was just breathtaking! What do you think?

Holiday Family Time At Nauset Beach On Cape Cod!

I love it when my son comes to visit from California for the holidays. It’s so much fun trying to fit everything in that you want to do. (Click on blog link for other photo.)

One of our annual outings is a long walk, or several long walks, on the beach. However when we got up yesterday the forecast was for temps in the low 20s with 35-45 mph winds. Not a good day for a walk on the beach.

So, we braved the cold and the wind for about 5 minutes and ran down to the beach to get a selfie on Nauset Beach. Such a pretty day… but oh, so cold! Look at that wind chill! Brrrr.

Coast Guard Beach On Cape Cod Was Spectacular Yesterday!

We took a ride to Coast Guard Beach yesterday, hoping to take a walk on the beach. It was about an hour until high tide and already the water was lapping at the dunes. No walk today; we’ll wait for low tide.

So we stood at the end of the trail to the beach and took lots of photographs. Each one was more spectacular than the one before.

Gorgeous sky, don’t you think?

Nauset Beach On Cape Cod, Looking South Toward Chatham.

When you look at the views on Nauset Beach, they are so different looking north and looking south. This photograph, looking south toward Chatham, was a cloudy day but you could see the the sun peeking out from just above the horizon.

Pretty don’t you think?

Cool Shadow At Nauset Beach On Cape Cod.

I told Phil that I was going to take a walk down Nauset Beach to see if I could find the ship that was starting to come up a couple of weeks ago. (Click on blog link to see other photo.) It had gone down in a storm a long, long time ago. No one was sure which ship it was but you could see a bit of the hull sticking out of the sand.

The only bit of info I got about its location was that it was on the beach toward Chatham. It was a gorgeous day, in the 50s and sunny. You didn’t even need  a winter jacket. Of course I had my winter parks, hat and mittens… just in case! Ha!

I walked and walked for 2 miles and couldn’t find a thing! Did I not walk far enough? Was the tide not low enough? Oh well… I was pretty far down the beach with no one in sight so I decided it was time to head back to the car.

I turned around and took this photo to send to Phil with the caption, “I can’t see anything!” He wrote back, “I see something. Your shadow!” 🙂
