Beautiful Belted Kingfishers Feeding At Arey’s Pond On Cape Cod.

We had stopped to watch all of the bird activity at Arey’s Pond the other morning when we saw 3 Belted Kingfishers flying about looking for food. (Click on blog link for other photo.)

What a great experience and so much fun to watch!

Beautiful Monarch Butterfly At Fort Hill On Cape Cod.

I was so lucky to see this gorgeous Monarch butterfly flitting about the Milkweed flowers at Fort Hill the other day. I hadn’t seen one in so long. (Click on blog link for other photo.)

Its colors were just magnificent! Have you seen many Monarch butterflies lately?

Indian Pipe Wildflowers Are Blooming In Provincetown.

The unique Indian Pipe wildflowers are blooming all along the Beech Forest Trail in Provincetown. They are such an interesting wildflower. (Click on blog link for other photo.)

Indian Pipe, a whitish, waxy, scaly wildflower with nodding bell-shaped flowers, is a plant with no chlorophyll which is why it is not green. It gets its nutrients from decaying matter. The flowers are about 1″ while the plant grows from 4-10 inches in the rich woods.

Have you ever seen an Indian Pipe wildflower? Such an interesting wildflower…
