Windy Winter Day At Coast Guard Beach, Part Of The National Seashore, On Cape Cod

I love windy days at the beach here on Cape Cod, especially on Coast Guard Beach, part of the National Seashore. You can see the spume blowing from the waves in the wind, and the lone log washed up on  the shore.

So pretty, don’t you thinK?

Gorgeous Skies Over Rock Harbor On Cape Cod Bay

One of my favorite things to do is to take a walk to the beach at low tide, especially to a beach on Cape Cod Bay. It is always so gorgeous and you can walk out on the flats for miles.

It was low tide about 3:00 pm the other day and a perfect day for a walk. When I got to Boat Meadow Beach the clouds were just beautiful. And then I could see the huge rock by Rock Harbor with the sun shining through the clouds above it.

Pretty spectacular, don’t you think? I love how the sun and clouds are reflected in the tidal pool with the rippled sand from the flats in the foreground.

Happy Valentine’s Day To You All From The Shores Of Cape Cod!

I had so much fun trying to make this Valentine in the sand, as the waves rolled in and out and I ran back and forth, dodging them! Ha!

Wishing you all a Happy Valentine’s Day from Coast Guard Beach on Cape Cod, voted one of the Top Ten Beaches in the USA by National Geographic!

Opening Night For Your Favorite Photo Contest In Orleans On Cape Cod

I entered my very first photo contest at our local camera store and gallery in Orleans on Cape Cod. It was really cool. It is an annual contest with the title of “Your Favorite Photo of 2017,” with the date changing each year. When I first heard about it, I had one very favorite photograph that I took right before Christmas at a beach I had never been to before.

My son and I were on our way to Hyannis and we had a few extra minutes, so I told him to go on google and find a beach nearby. The forecast was for a huge winter storm that afternoon so a nice little walk would be welcome. As we walked onto the beach, this is what we saw. It was breathtaking. I only had a few seconds to take a photograph before the colors changed, so I titled my photograph “A Cape Cod Moment,” for that’s all it was.

Voting is public until the first week of March. Keeping my fingers crossed!
