The weather the past few days here on Cape Cod has been spectacular! Yesterday it was in the low 50s and sunny. Its hard to believe that last week there was still ice on the bay and snow on the streets. Unbelievable!
I took this photograph at Boat Meadow at lunchtime when the tide was going out. Look at those clouds on the horizon… just beautiful!
There was quite a bit of sand that washed in from the Nor’easter a couple of weeks ago here on Cape Cod. The bottom of the stairs at Marconi Beach were pretty buried as you can see in the first photograph. (Click on blog link for other photos.)
The good new is that the stairs are still standing and you can still use them to take a nice walk on the beach. I think staying to the right side going down is a little bit easier, as on the left side the sand is pretty high.
I’m sure it will take a little bit of time to dig them out come spring, but well worth the wait as Marconi Beach is one spectacular beach… any time of the year!
I just loved this photograph of this Great Blue Heron, seen through the fence at Herring Pond, warming up in the sun on a frigid day while patiently waiting for lunch to swim by.
His feathers and colors were magnificent! What a gorgeous bird! Look at that piercing eye. We’ve seen so many Great Blue Herons this winter, so many more than we ever see in the summer.
The view from the Marconi Beach overlook is always spectacular! I’ve taken this photograph so many times and was surprised to see the new sandbar on the beach at low tide. (Click on blog link to see other photo.)
I took another photograph standing a bit farther back. As always, it just takes your breath away. So beautiful…
When I looked out our window the sky was turning a pretty pink so I jumped in my car and headed to the beach. By the time I got there, 2 minutes later, the sky was aglow in an orange, fiery sunset.
Beautiful, don’t you think?
