Unusual Spectator For Our Picnic On Cape Cod!

We frequently will go to Rock Harbor for a picnic lunch and sit in our car enjoying the boats and the birds and all of the activity going on. The past few times that we went there, this “thing” kept staring at me.

It looks like a clown face, don’t you think? When, in fact, it is part of one of the pulley systems on one of the fishing boats. I thought it was so cool. What do you think?

Waiting For The Boats At Rock Harbor On Cape Cod.

The docks are in and ready for the arrival of the boats that will launch and moor at Rock Harbor this spring. I liked this photograph of the empty poles in the water that will soon house a variety of boats from fishing boats to sailboats to pleasure boats.

Spring will be here soon and the harbor will be hopping…

Single Digit Wind Chill On Cape Cod Yesterday!

Yesterday was one of the coldest and windiest days that we’ve felt here on Cape Cod. The wind chill when we got up was minus 3 degrees and crept up to 7 degrees at lunchtime. Brrr…(Click on blog link to see other photos.)

We stopped at Rock Harbor to see the bay wild with ice and huge waves. Every time a wave came in, it pushed the pile of ice farther up the ramp as you can see in the first photograph.

The 2nd and 3rd photographs show the fishing boats and docks surrounded by slushy ice. Today is supposed to be in the low 40s, so most of the ice should melt. We sure have had some crazy weather this winter!
