If you’re not looking at the ground while you walk by these little beauties on the side of the road, you will probably miss them as they are only about 10-12mm across. I saw them a couple of years ago in the same place, but missed them last year.
So, it was a big treat to see them again. They are just stunning with their bright orange petals and purple center and bright yellow anthers. Have you ever seen a Scarlet Pimpernel wildflower?
The kayaks are ready for their paddlers at Hemenway Landing on Cape Cod. They were so colorful, all lined up on the shore at Nauset Marsh. Perfect day for a paddle… and what a view!
This Dragonfly kept flying all around us the other day on the Red Maple Swamp Trail boardwalk at Fort Hill. It was fun to get so many different poses. What do you think? (Click on blog link for lots more photos.)
Our birdbath is very popular here on Cape Cod! There is usually someone taking a drink or someone taking a bath most of the day. It is a heavy traffic area and so much fun to watch!
Birdie, our “pet name” for the female Cardinal who frequents our feeders and bath, is loving her bath! She was in there splashing around for quite a while.
So cute, don’t you think?
