It was a beautiful, sunny day at Fort Hill and the light on Indian Rock at Skill Hill at Fort Hill was just beautiful. You can really see the carvings made by the Native Americans. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
Indian Rock was a “community grinding rock, one of four such rocks found in the Nauset area. The Indians used the abrasive qualities of the fine-grained metamorphic rock to grind and polish implements made of stone and animal bones, such as stone axes or bone fishhooks.
Indian Rock was originally located in the mud of the marsh below where it now sits on Skiff Hill. The National Park Service moved the 20-ton boulder to this site in 1965.”
Phil and I decided to get some fresh mussels and make one of his delicacies, Mussels Marinara for dinner to celebrate…. our first haircuts in over a year! It’s been a long time coming, but we made it with a few home trims here and there. Our hairdresser was sure glad to see us!
It was a scrumptious dinner! Thank you , Phil, you are an awesome chef!
This was a beautiful, fiery red sunset over the salt marsh the other night. So pretty how the creek reflects the sky as it winds through the marsh grass. Love the colors!
I just got my biked tuned up so I was anxious to go out for a ride and yesterday was the perfect day! It was gorgeous with sunny skies, warm temps and breezy.
One of my favorites rides is to the little beach near us. It was low tide so you can see the flats in the background looking out on Cape Cod Bay. This is my first selfie of the year… Happy Biking!
We have a couple of Red-bellied Woodpeckers who frequent our yard looking for some goodies. Once in while they will resort to the bird feeder or suet feeder, but most often they love to scavenge the ground underneath looking for little morsels left by the other birds.
This little guy had flown way up high on the tree. Beautiful bird, don’t you think? It’s funny how he’s called a Red-bellied Woodpecker when the red is on his head, not his belly!
