Waiting Patiently For Lunch In Our Yard On Cape Cod…

It was pouring rain all day when we saw this Red Tailed Hawk perched up in the tree. He must be hungry. He had a perfect view of our bird feeders and, I’m sure, was hoping for a nice, tasty lunch.

He waited a long time and then flew away, empty-taloned. I took this photograph through the glass when it was pouring rain, but it seemed to come out OK, other than he looks pretty drenched.

Beautiful bird, don’t you think?

Still Plenty Of Seals At Coast Guard Beach On Cape Cod.

We were so surprised to see so many seals still swimming around at Coast Guard Beach the other day. They were pretty close to shore. (Click on blog link for other photo.)

It was low tide so we walked down the beach to Nauset Spit where we saw a huge sandbar covered with hundreds of seals. And were they making a racket! You could hear them from far away!
