Pretty Spotted Wintergreen Wildflowers On Cape Cod.

There is  a lot of Spotted Wintergreen, a native wildflower, blooming in the woods near our home. The flowers are a waxy white with very pronounced stamens and pistil as you can see in the photographs. (Click on blog link to see other photo.)

The interesting thing about the Spotted Wintergreen is that when they are just starting to bloom, they face downward. As they bloom, they start to face upward and, when fully bloomed,  end up facing the sky.

Such a delicate little wildflower, don’t you think?

Taking It All In At The Beach On Cape Cod.

It was going to be a very hot day so we went to take a walk on Coast Guard Beach about 7:30am. It was warm, but breezy. We followed this elderly lady walking down the beach for a bit. She had her bathing suit on and looked like she was enjoying every minute!

And then she sat down on this rock and we watched the waves splash over her. She was loving it! It was so refreshing… for all of us!
