Snowy Trails At Wiley Park On Cape Cod.

It’s been so pretty hiking the snowy trails at Wiley Park the past few days. I’ve even used my hiking poles a few times as it’s been a bit icy in spots, especially the shade. (Click on blog link for other photo.)

There’s nothing like the quiet peacefulness of a hike on a snowy trail with just the crunch of your boots on the snow.

Perfect Spot To Relax At Great Pond On Cape Cod.

I love to hike the trails at Wiley Park and look out onto Great Pond. You never know what you will see. And if you’re lucky and no one is around, there is the perfect bench to sit and relax and just gaze at all the beauty around.

This was a mostly cloudy day and there was still a bit of ice along the shore, but still so pretty and peaceful.

Great Pond At Wiley Park On Cape Cod… Horizontal or Vertical?

Wiley Park is one of my favorite places to hike. The trails meander through the woods and along the shore of Great Pond. There are several places that look out onto Great Pond or a smaller adjacent pond. (Click on blog link for other photo.)

I really like the colors in this photograph where you can still see the ice on Great Pond, even though it’s been so warm. I couldn’t decide if I like it better as a horizontal or a vertical. What do you think?

My First Bald Eagle On Cape Cod!

I had seen a post about a Juvenile Bald Eagle on Wednesday, so I thought I might try to see if I could find it. I went out early on Thursday morning and was I was in for a big surprise! There, high on the tree in the distance overlooking the water, was an adult Bald Eagle. Oh my!

This was another first for me on Cape Cod as I saw my first Snowy Owl about a month ago. So cool!!

Have you ever seen a Bald Eagle on Cape Cod?

Gorgeous Great Blue Heron At Wiley Park On Cape Cod.

This Great Blue Heron likes to hang out by the little creek that feeds the two ponds at Wiley Park. I see him there frequently as I hike over the bridge. He doesn’t seem spooked by me as many Great Blue Herons are when they just fly away. (Click on blog link for other photo.)

As you can see in the photos, he is pretty well disguised in the trees and brush. What a beautiful bird!
