Beautiful Carolina Wren On Our Deck Here On Cape Cod

There, on our deck was a beautiful Carolina Wren, most noted with the white stripe over his eye.

I was putting the laundry away yesterday when I saw something out of the corner of my eye. It was a little bird flitting around under the benches on the deck. It was acting like a Wren, with little jerking movements up and down, but I had never seen a Wren here…ever.

I heard a Carolina Wren last summer a few times, as they have a very distinct call, but I had never seen one.

I called Phil in and we both verified that, yes indeed, this was a Carolina Wren and on our deck. What a treat!

I got my camera an clicked away, but the only decent photographs I could get were through the screens.

Beautiful little bird, don’t you think?

Nauset Beach On Cape Cod .. Which One Do You Like Better?

We were down at Nauset Beach the other day because the skies and the clouds were just spectacular! Phil and I clicked away and compared our photos. Sometimes we get such different photos from our different perspectives.

Using different apps, we took a photograph of these benches at Nauset Beach. I can’t decide which one I like better. One looks like a warm summer day while the second one looks like a cold winter day.

What do you think? Which one do you like better?

Hundreds Of Birds In The Water Of Nauset Beach In Orleans On Cape Cod

I was taking a glorious walk the other morning on Nauset Beach in Orleans on Cape Cod, enjoying just being out so early on a gorgeous day. It’s amazing the two distinct perspectives you get when you walk down the beach and then turn around and head back.

I did not even see these hundreds of birds in the water on my way down the beach, but on the way back…wow! They were everywhere. The sun was at an angle that i could not tell what type of seabird they were, other than black.

I loved the birds with the waves crashing in the foreground.

What do you think?
