Phil and I were out taking an early morning hike on one of the trails in Eastham on Cape Cod when we saw a huge flock of Northern Flickers flitting from tree to tree.
This juvenile Northern Flicker perched on this dead branch just long enough for me to take a photograph.
Hiking out to Jeremy Point on Cape Cod is a great hike and a great experience. I took this photograph as we got closer to the end of the hike, where you can see Jeremy Point in the distance.
You can see Wellfleet Harbor on the left of the photograph and the Atlantic Ocean on the right.
This is one of our favorite picnic spots on the Cape. It doesn’t get much better with the water and beach. You can even see Jeremy Point in the far distance.
You can picnic in the car, on the bench, on the beach, or jump in your kayak and picnic along the shore. Just beautiful!
The views of Nauset Marsh from Fort Hill on Cape Cod are just spectacular! You can see Nauset Light in the distance, as well as the distant shores.
Up close, there are a lot of trails around Fort Hill for you to explore. Don’t forget your binoculars with all of the birds.
Or take your kayak out for a beautiful paddle around the marshes and see all of the amazing wildlife. There is so much to do around Fort Hill and Nauset Marsh, I’m sure I will have many more Blogs about this amazing place!
