“The Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trails a short and unique loop hike that even kids might like. That’s because the big attraction is a very cool boardwalk that winds through what the National Park Service calls ‘an isolated remnant of an ecosystem created after the last ice age, and normally found in mid-Canada or further north.'”

We always love the Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trail in Wellfleet. It is so diverse with part of it through the pine forest and than part of it over a boardwalk through White Cedar Swamp. It is really pretty any time of the year.
Have you ever hiked the boardwalk over Atlantic White Cedar Swamp? Pretty cool, don’t you think?
It was a perfect day to take a hike on the Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trail as it was windy and the trail is a bit secluded. When we got to the boardwalk over the swamp, the moss and the reflections looked almost mystical.
It looked so cool, especially for the middle of winter. What do you think?

My favorite part is walking along the boardwalk over the swamps. It is really cool and really eerie. You wonder what goes on beneath you…
The Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trail is a beautiful hike through the scrub bushes, the pine forest, over White Cedar Swamp on a boardwalk and then back to the trailhead. It has so many different things to see.
I took this photograph as we were hiking through the woods. It’s a soft, pine needled trail which meanders up and down to the swamp. It’s perfect this time of the year because there are no mosquitoes!
It’s a great hike for the whole family and very diverse for the kids!
