The entrance road into Wellfleet is always so pretty and decorated so nicely for the season or the holiday. This weekend’s boat has a United States flag theme in honor of July 4, 1776.
“July 4th, or Independence Day, commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence” in 1776, which declared the 13 American colonies free from British rule.”
“July 4th, also known as Independence Day, which is a federal holiday in the United States, commemorates the ratification of the Declaration of Independence by the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, establishing the United States of America.”
What is the Fourth of July?
“The Fourth of July celebrates the passage of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. The Declaration announced the political separation of the 13 North American colonies from Great Britain.”
There are flags everywhere this weekend, but I especially liked this group of flags that lined the street on the way to Rock Harbor.
Wishing you all a Happy 4th of July!
