Beautiful Lady Slipper Wildflowers Are Blooming On Cape Cod.

The Lady Slippers are blooming all over Cape Cod and they are gorgeous. They like to grow in pine woodlands and there are certainly an abundance of those on the Cape. (Click on blog link to see other photo.)

Lady Slippers have a deep pink pouch and 4 reddish-brown twisted petals on top. The flowers are 1.5″ – 2.5″ and the plant grows 6″-15″ in May and June.

Beautiful little wildflower, don’t you think? Have you seen one this spring yet?

  1. These are one of my favorite wildflowers! We have them growing in our woods in Maine. I miss them being here in the west coast. Thanks so much for this great picture, Mel!
