The Hydrangea are blooming everywhere on the Cape and they are spectacular! I took this photograph in my front yard. It is one of my first blooms. Look at that vibrant blue color!
So pretty, don’t you think?
It is the season for the Canada Mayflower to bloom on Cape Cod. I have seen it on many of the trails in the past few days. If you hike Fort Hill, you can see it on the sides of the boardwalk. It is so pretty and delicate. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
Canada Mayflower is a small woodland plant, only growing 3′ – 6″ in May and June. Its 1/4″ flowers look like miniatureĀ bottle brushes next to bright shiny leaves.
When the Mayflower blooms, you know that summer is right around the corner! Have you ever seen oneĀ this year?
