We had stopped to watch all of the bird activity at Arey’s Pond the other morning when we saw 3 Belted Kingfishers flying about looking for food. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
I couldn’t get them all in one frame but this one looked like a baby waiting for his parent to feed him. Meanwhile, we watched the adult eat what looked like a turtle and then something else…maybe a fish?
What a great experience and so much fun to watch!
It is such a pretty drive down the road to Arey’s Pond In Orleans. This morning there were beautiful reflections everywhere.
Love all the blues…
In just a few weeks Arey’s Pond will be starting to fill up with boats for the summer season. I loved the reflection in this photograph.
What do you think?
Phil and I each took a photograph of this reflection on Arey’s Pond the other day. The first photo is his interpretation and the 2nd one is mine. (Clock on blog link for other photo.)
Which one do you like better?
I saw this Catboat’s name and it brought a smile to my face. What a cool name for a Catboat, don’t you think?
We were so surprised to see 2 seals swimming about in Arey’s Pond. We thought it must be a fluke, but we’ve seen them there several times now. That’s a long swim from the ocean through Pleasant Bay and Little Pleasant Bay and down the river to Arey’s Pond.
The fishing must be pretty good!
