I love windy days at the beach here on Cape Cod, especially on Coast Guard Beach, part of the National Seashore. You can see the spume blowing from the waves in the wind, and the lone log washed up on the shore.
So pretty, don’t you thinK?
It was 22 degrees with a little breeze yesterday but I had this yearning to take a walk on the beach. I put on my fleece vest, my Gortex jacket and Windstopper hat and mittens. I was ready for whatever weather greeted me.
It was glorious! And I was the only one n the beach! I walked all the way to Nauset Spit, loving the fact that there were no footprints in front of me. How cool!
I thought this was a fun photograph with my shadow in the corner. I love this time of the year on the beach! Pinch me!
When Phil took this photograph of me in front of the dunes on Coast Guard Beach the other day, the dunes looked pretty high. So I pulled up a Blog that I had written last February which was very similar.
You can see the big difference in the height of the dunes from last year to this year. Wow! It looks like the sand on the beach has washed out the bottom of the dunes. The water now comes almost all the way up to the dunes at high tide, so I wonder what will happen this summer when people want to go to the beach. Will they have to wait until low tide?
Maybe Mother Nature will fix it by the summer…
