This is such a pretty view of the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown from the pier downtown. The Pilgrim Monument was built to honor the Pilgrims’ first landing in Provincetown in 1620. President Theodore Roosevelt laid the cornerstone of this 252 foot tower in 1907.
Besides being able to walk up to the tower and see for miles, there is a museum on the ground floor that is very interesting and educational.
Commercial Street, the main street in downtown Provincetown, is a wonderful place to shop and walk around and get a real feel for this unique New England town.

Even the Poison Ivy leaves change color in the fall, turning into this beautiful, vibrant red. However, “leaves of three, let them be.” The leaves or even the vines can give you a nice rash.
But pretty, don’t you think? I like the fence with the orange Bittersweet berries in the background. Nice fall scene… except for the Poison Ivy!
Morris Island in Chatham is always a great place to take a walk, unless it is high tide. There are always so many birds to see and other wildlife. The trails through the woods and by the harbor also offer beautiful views.
However, if it is high tide, you can’t even make it down the beach! You can see the water all the way up to the rocks as you look out toward Monomoy Island. Have you ever hiked Morris Island?
