I stopped at First Encounter Beach the other day when it was so windy it looked like you could surf the waves on the bayside. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
I remember a blog I had written a year ago about those orange buoys that lead the way for the trucks to get out to their oyster beds at low tide. And then I saw those orange buoys again at high tide and thought, “ How on earth is it possible that a few hours later at low tide, that the water will be low enough for those trucks and carts to drive out there again. Unbelievable and total dedication!
The wind chill yesterday was 10 degrees at Boat Meadow Beach! Yikes!
But we could still see those dedicated oyster farmers way out on the flats with their trucks. I wonder what the wind chill was out there! Frigid…
The tides get really low in Cape Cod Bay , with so many boats on the sand. I loved the reflection of this sailboat at Boat Meadow Beach. Such pretty colors… don’t you think?
PS I rode by Boat Meadow Beach this morning and it looks like the mast fell down. Very strange. I wonder what happened…
When it’s low tide on Cape Cod Bay, you can walk out for miles. At First Encounter Beach, it looks like you can walk forever. The flats are so amazing and ever-changing. Love those colors…
