We were taking a short hike at Fort Hill on the National Seashore the other day when I saw a lot of commotion out at Nauset Break. I didn’t have my binoculars with me so I zoomed in with my camera and took a few photographs.
When I got home I could see that there were hundreds of birds flying about out there as well as resting on the beaches. I wonder if there was an abundance of fish out there that they were feeding on or why they were there?
The flowers, which have gone by, are still so pretty on the Salt Pond Trail in Eastham on Cape Cod. It is a beautiful little hike which starts at the Visitor’s Center and goes along the Salt Pond, Nauset Marsh and then back through the woods. There are other trails leading off of that one if you feel like a longer hike.
The views are just spectacular. What do you think?
Fort Hill in the fall almost looks like an English meadow with the winding trails and the stone walls. It is pretty any time of the year, but especially with the fall colors.
You can see Nauset Marsh in the background. Pretty, don’t you think?
You can see the orange and yellow Bittersweet berries on so many of the trails at Fort Hill on Cape Cod. It’s a vine that grows on the bushes and has such a pretty berry in the fall. It reminds me of my Mom who used to pick it each fall and make wreaths for our doors. They were so pretty.
I loved how you can see Nauset marsh and the Coast Guard Station in the background.
One of the things I love about hiking on Cape Cod are the pine needle trails that are so pretty and so soft to walk on. Wiley Park in Eastham has many trails through the pine forests that are just gorgeous.
This is one of my favorite ones! Pretty, don’t you think?
