Phil and I took a nice hike at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary and ended up out on the outer beach at low tide. There were no birds to be seen but there was this one Oyster shell which I thought was just perfect!
The early morning light was so pretty as I biked to the Eastham side of Rock Harbor. You can see across the salt marsh and the creek to the boats docked in the harbor. I don’t think many people see this side of Rock Harbor.
One thing I really missed when we lived in Colorado were the clouds. I love the clouds here on Cape Cod. They are always so different from little puffy ones over the horizon to the sky filled with them.

Celandine is a leafy plant with hairy stems and tiny, deep yellow 4-petaled flowers in loose clusters. The flowers are only 3/4″ while the plants grows from 1-3 feet from May through July. I saw many of these wildflowers on the trail by the Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham in late August!
I was taking a hike the other day when I saw something out of the corner of my eye. It landed high on the branch above me. I clicked away and this is what I got. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
It is a Red Admiral butterfly and very pretty, but way high up in the tree. I didn’t know that they landed so high up; I thought they would prefer a flower.
