Double-Crested Cormorants At Boat Meadow Creek On Cape Cod.

I was just commenting to Phil a few days ago that I hadn’t gotten a good photograph of the Double-Crested Cormorant this past summer. I was just never in the right place at the right time. (Click on blog link to see other photo.)

And then as I was walking over the bridge on Boat Meadow Creek the other day, I saw three Double-Crested Cormorants. How cool!

This  2nd Cormorant was just standing on the river bank looking around.  I loved his big, webbed feet!

Cute little guy, don’t you think?

Semipalmated Plovers At Boat Meadow Beach On Cape Cod.

I was so surprised to see so many Semipalmated Plovers at Boat Meadow Beach the other day. I thought they had migrated weeks ago. There were quite a few of them looking for food on the flats at low tide. (Click on blog link or additional photo.)

When doing a little research, I learned that Semipalmated Plovers are abundant here on the Cape until well into November!

Beautiful Swans At The Salt Pond On Cape Cod.

These two swans were swimming together on the salt pond by the visitors center and looked so beautiful. I loved the close up photograph of them both and then the one farther away where you can see the shoreline and the puffy clouds in the sky. (Click on blog link to see other photo.)

So pretty, don’t you think?

Lots Of Least Terns Out On The Sandbar At Coast Guard Beach On Cape Cod.

We could hear the Least Terns squawking way out on the sand bar as we walked down Coast Guard Beach. There were hundreds of them out there. And then something scared them.

I loved this photograph as they started to fly away.  What do you think?
