We were driving out to the Wellfleet Harbor when I saw this boat in the water by Uncle Tim’s Bridge. It was so pretty and looked so pristine. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
Phil said to take one in color and one in black and white. What do you think? Which one do you like better?
It is the perfect time to hike the Atlantic White Swamp Trail in Wellfleet when the temps and humidity have dropped and there aren’t any mosquitoes. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
It’s such a diversified hike that starts in the woods, then through the swamp on the boardwalk and then back on an old dirt road. It so pretty and fun for the whole family!
It is always so pretty looking out at Wellfleet Harbor from the dock. The side was low, so there weren’t a lot of boats around. Can you see Jeremy Point in the background? Such a pretty view…
It is quite amazing to see all of these trucks in Wellfleet Harbor driving out over the flats to reach their oyster beds. This is definitely a low tide activity. We watched them for a while and could see the tide starting to come in with Great Island in the distance. They must know exactly how long they have out there before the water is too high to get back!
There are so many different and colorful window boxes along the pedestrian walkway at Wellfleet Harbor. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
They make me smile every time I walk by. They look like “window boxes” that look out on the harbor and the docks. So pretty and festive, don’t you think?
“Uncle Tim’s Bridge was established in 1783, when it was first named “The New Bridge”. Uncle Tim’s Bridge crosses Duck Creek and connects Hamblen Island to the central village of Wellfleet. In the 1800s Timothy E. Daniels, known as Uncle Tim, had a retail shop located right across from the bridge which bears his name to this day. Uncle Tim’s Bridge is listed on the State Historic Register.”
Have you ever hiked this bridge?
