Yesterday was one of those “10 best days” here on Cape Cod. It was gorgeous… sunny and warm with a light breeze. You could still wear shorts and a t-shirt! It was the perfect day for a morning walk on Coast Guard Beach. (Click on blog link to see other photo.)
We were so surprised when we walked by the old path that led down to the beach. The path was so unpredictable at the beginning of the summer with no access at high tide that the national seashore decided to move the path down toward Nauset Light Beach where it is much more level and safe.
The first photo shows where the old path entered the beach. It is easily 8-10 feet higher than it was a couple of weeks ago. The 2nd photo shows the dune next to the path. It got really hammered last week with the high tides and high winds. Wow!
The kayaks and dinghys are still on the beach and ready to go in Chatham. We’ve had some gorgeous weather the past couple of weeks, so I’m sure everyone is trying to get as much out of summer as they can.
The roadways and trails are still full of color with the Asters blooming everywhere. There are so many different kind of Asters, I wasn’t sure what kind this one is.
It was a beautiful morning at Provincetown Harbor. It looks like everything is “ready to go.” It is so nice to see that they have the handicapped mat down the beach for people in wheelchairs or strollers.
