It was a gorgeous day so we decided to take a walk on Coast Guard Beach. It was crowded, especially near the lifeguard stands. But as you walk farther down the beach, there were very few people and you could enjoy the ambiance.
This man was especially enjoying some solitude and bliss as he had brought his chair out to the sandbar. It looks very tempting… don’t you think?
Rocky Harbor is always a popular spot on a summer’s day. Sit and relax, read a book. watch the boats go in and out, have a picnic, walk in the water… it doesn’t get much better!
Each year there seems to be a “seal island” on one of the sandbars by Coast Guard Beach or Nauset Beach. The seals pack themselves together and enjoy that little bit of time until the tide comes in again. (Click blog link to see other photo.)
The 2nd photo is of “seal island” not zoomed in. It is pretty far away from shore.
Yesterday it crowded at Coast Guard Beach! I’ve never seen so many people enjoying the gorgeous day. It was that perfect beach day… sunny and warm. And it was a nice surprise with all that we’ve been reading in the news about the Cape. (Click blog link to see other photo.)
And… people were enjoying the cool water to escape the heat of the beach. It was the perfect summer day!
There are new Shark Signs at all of the beaches on Cape Cod, both ocean beaches and bayside beaches. With all of the shark sightings in the past few years and the tragedy last summer, hopefully the signs will help if anyone gets in trouble, and make people aware of the possibility of sharks in the waters off of Cape Cod.
