You can always tell when there is a hawk in our yard. The feeders are empty and you can’t hear a thing. And there, perched up in the tree, was a Cooper’s Hawk looking for his next meal.
These Double-Crested Cormorants were certainly loving this little shed on the Salt Pond by the Eastham Visitors Center. I counted 16 there at one time, either in the water or sitting on top.
Perfect place for them to perch and dry their wings.
The stairway at Marconi Beach was looking pretty good after the powerful Nor’easter that visited Cape Cod last week. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
You could see that the sand had covered a few of the bottom steps but I’m sure that can be dug out. Overall, it looked really good and people were using it to get to the beach.
It’s amazing the difference between viewing the sunset on the beach and viewing the sunset on the salt marsh. Even though you are only a about 1/4 mile away, the sky looks totally different.
