Yellow-Rumped Warblers At Our Bird Bath On Cape Cod

We had quite a few Yellow-Rumped Warblers in our yard the other day. They were dining on the berries on the bushes and drinking from our bird bath.

I have never seen a Yellow-Rumped Warbler here before. We used to see many of them out in Colorado.

In looking at by Sibley bird book, they are uncommon in this area at this time of the year but are sometimes seen in groups, such as we saw. Maybe they are starting to migrate north to be there for the spring?

Gorgeous Trail To Coast Guard Beach On Cape Cod

It was another beautiful day for a hike to Coast Guard Beach  on the National Seashore on Cape Cod. The clouds were unbelievable! With the Coast Guard Station in the background and Nauset Marsh, it doesn’t get much prettier!

Phil and I took the same photograph… same place, same time., different perspective. What do you think?

Coast Guard Beach On Cape Cod At Low Tide

I loved the ripples in the sand at low tide here at Coast Guard Beach, part of the  National Seashore, on Cape Cod. When I got home and looked at the photograph on my computer, I noticed the little set of bird tracks through it.

Cute, don’t you think? They are quite small… I wonder what kind of bird it was.

Red-Tailed Hawk Is Back Building His Nest In Our Yard On Cape Cod!

What a thrill it was to see the Red-tailed Hawk sitting in a tree in our backyard with a branch in his mouth… and then flying up to the tall pine tree where his nest was last year. It was sooo cool!

We have seen him many times in the past couple of days working on his nest. And then we were wondering… is it the parents that had the nest there last year or is it the baby who has come back?

(Remember the baby who cried incessantly for the first few months of his life? )

Maybe as we see him more we can figure out who it is…
