I seem to see so many Great Blue Herons way up high in the trees lately. They perch on the branches and then fly down to the salt marsh feed on the fish.
This Great Blue seems to like this tall 30′ tree on the Salt Pond Trail in Eastham. I have seen him there several times lately.
We’ve been taking advantage of the beautiful fall weather we’ve been having here on Cape Cod to walk on the pristine beaches, such as Coast Guard Beach, part of the National Seashore, and rated in the Top 10 Beaches in the USA!
It doesn’t get much prettier than this. What do you think?
This little Northern Flicker was having such a good time taking a bath in our bird bath, just flapping away. We are so lucky to have so many birds in our yard, and I especially love the Northern Flicker.
You can really see his distinctive coloring. Beautiful bird, don’t you think?
The kite surfers were enjoying the very windy day at First Encounter Beach in Eastham on Cape Cod last weekend. There were quite a few of them out there.
