Still Plenty Of Seals At Coast Guard Beach On Cape Cod.

We were so surprised to see so many seals still swimming around at Coast Guard Beach the other day. They were pretty close to shore. (Click on blog link for other photo.)

It was low tide so we walked down the beach to Nauset Spit where we saw a huge sandbar covered with hundreds of seals. And were they making a racket! You could hear them from far away!

Awesome Paragliders At White Crest Beach On Cape Cod!

It was the perfect day and the perfect place for the paragliders to set up and show everyone what they do!  And, were they good! It was so much fun to watch them maneuver up and down the beach… over the water and over the dunes.  (Click on blog link for other photo.)

In doing some reading, I did not realize that White Crest is one of the few  approved “launching sites” in Massachusetts for paragliders and hang gliders. How cool… and right in our back yard!

I loved these 2 photographs of their colorful para gliders. The sky, as well as the para gliders, was amazing!

Beautiful Sanderlings At Coast Guard Beach On Cape Cod.

Phil and I were taking a walk on Coast Guard Beach the other day when we saw some little birds scurrying about in the and. At first we thought they were some late Piping Plovers, but the coloring wasn’t right.  As we got closer, we realized that they were Sanderlings. (Click on blog link for other photo.)

“The first photo shows a Sanderling in winter plumage, the second photo shows a Sanderling molting out of its colorful breeding plumage.”
Thank you, Stephanie (Executive Director at Wild Care Cape Cod) for your expertise and knowledge of these wonderful little birds!
