This Great Blue Heron flew right over me and landed on the shore by Rock Harbor. You can see the iconic Rock Harbor channel marker in the distance.
I thought it was a cool silhouette of the Great Blue Heron… what do you think?
The forecast was for 3 days of high winds and lots of rain, so I was ready to stay inside all day yesterday and get some work done. After lunch, the sun came out briefly and it dried up the roads enough to go for a nice bike ride. What a treat!
The clouds in the sky were spectacular! I took this photograph at First Encounter Beach looking toward one of the dunes. So pretty, don’t you think?
(Those colorful red leaves are poison ivy!)
There are still a lot of hopeful sailors at Arey’s Pond… hoping that the weather will hold up for a few more good sails this fall before their boats are retired for the winter. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
You can see the 2 channel markers in the first photo, red and green. As you motor out through the river toward the bay, the 2nd photograph is what you will see. So pretty and so peaceful…
