The Waves Are Huge At Nauset Beach In Orleans On Cape Cod

With a huge storm looming, the waves at Nauset Beach on Cape Cod were huge! I could barely open the door of my car because of the ferocious winds which are supposed to hit 60-70 mph today. Wow!

You can see the sand blowing. It was hard to stand up on the beach!

Perfect Lighting For This Dove In My Bird Bath On Cape Cod

I happened to look out the window the other day when it was just about dusk and saw these two Doves in my bird bath. The lighting on one of them was just beautiful.

By the time I ran into the other room to show Phil, the sun had gone down.

Pretty photograph, don’t you think? It was really cool to see them there with the snow all around the rim. We have a heater in there so the birds can get a drink or take a bath all through the winter!

Nauset Beach In Orleans On Cape Cod After The Snow Storm

Phil took this photograph of me braving the wind and the cold to run down to Nauset Beach and take a photograph. I really liked his version with Liam’s Restaurant all boarded up and the picnic tables up on end with the snow on the beach. The clouds were spectacular!

What do you think?

Boat Meadow Creek In Eastham On Cape Cod At High Tide

The tide at Boat Meadow Creek in Eastham was exceptionally high a few days ago. Usually Boat Meadow Creek is a little creek that meanders through the salt marsh. At high tide, sometimes the creek might go over its banks a bit.

This day was exceptionally high with the entire salt marsh looking like a continuation of Cape Cod Bay.

Pretty, don’t you think?

Little Mouse On The Trail At Wiley Park On Cape Cod

I heard a little rustle in the leaves at Wiley Park and saw this little mouse scurry up the tree and out onto a branch. This is the first mouse I have seen there. I’ve heard rustling in the leaves many times but always thought it must be a bird. Maybe it was a mouse?

So, I took some photographs up on the branch and then in the leaves below and came home to research what kind of mouse it was. I presumed it was a “Field Mouse.” Well, there are so many different types of mice, I have no idea what kind it is.

Can anyone identify this little guy? Cute, isn’t he?
