You can hear the call of the Willets all over Cape Cod this time of the year. It’s as if they’re saying, “We’re back!” (Click on blog link for other photo.)
The Willets love to stand on fence railings, posts, signs and anything they can find to stand on. This guy was walking down the fence at Fort Hill. You can see how different their coloring is when they open up their wings.
The big blue Adirondack chair has been moved from its winter home by the Town Hall on Commercial Street back to its summer home on the beach. Love that view!
I had to add these “fun facts” that Linda commented on this morning:
“We had to get the footstool — otherwise it would have been hard to get in it,” [Tourism Director Tony Fuccillo] says.
“The chair was designed and constructed by a Canadian company and is made out of recycled soda bottles. It came unassembled and Dept. of Public Works employees helped put it together.”
There’s a lot of activity at Arey’s Pond as those classic, handmade Catboats are getting ready to be put in the water for the season. You can see some of them already at their moorings or at the dock.
It’s such an exciting time of the year… and look at that sky!
This was such a beautiful photograph of one of the docks at Rock Harbor. The grass is starting to turn green, and look at that magnificent sky! It doesn’t get much prettier!
I’ve seen a lot of Mouse-Ear Chickweed wildflowers blooming lately. They are such a pretty little wildflower with white petals that have 5 notches. They get their name because of their hairy leaves which resemble a mouse’s ear.
