It was a gorgeous day for a hike at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. And it was low tide, so we were able to hike all the way out to the beach. It was spectacular! You can see all the way across Wellfleet Bay to Jeremy Point.
There is a bench at the end to sit and relax and enjoy those awesome views. Just don’t dawdle too long in case the tide is coming in. You don’t want to do what we did last time… wade in because the boardwalk was submerged.
If you have never been to the Wellfleet Silflie Sanctuary, put it on your To Do list. It is well worth it!
I loved this photograph of this Great Blue Heron Silhouette at Nauset Marsh in Eastham on Cape Cod. It must be a favorite fishing spot as I’ve seen him there many times.
It wasn’t until I got home and looked at my photographs on my computer that I saw all of the other birds in the background. Pretty cool, don’t you think?
It was a glorious day to take a hike at Nauset Marsh on the National Seashore on Cape Cod. It was early morning so the birds were all out and singing away. There wasn’t a ripple on the water… it was as smooth as glass.
These little mini Daffodils were growing at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary and were so pretty. I thought it would a nice post to say “Happy Easter to you all! may you find some time get get outside and enjoy a little bit of nature!”
When Phil and I headed out a couple of days ago to Morris Island in Chatham, I was hoping to see an Oystercatcher. We had not seen one in about 15 years and they are so beautiful with their long orange beaks which they use to catch and open Oysters!
Looking through our binoculars, we saw 2 Oystercatchers by the water’s edge. They stayed just long enough for us to get a few good photographs. What a treat! And then they flew away!
I guess we were at the right place at the right moment… wow!
