It was a “picture perfect-10” day at Nauset Light Beach. The skies were sunny with a few clouds, the temps were warm but not hot and the winds were breezy and beautiful. It was a perfect day to go for a walk on the beach.
It doesn’t get much prettier… and not a soul around!
When you think of Provincetown, you think of things that are fun and sometimes funky. We were taking a hike on Beech Forest Trail when we saw this little gnome sitting in the tree. How perfect for Provincetown! Just fun! (Click on blog link for other photo.)
And whoever put it there had a great imagination and picked the perfect tree. Have you seen this little gnome on the trail? Did it bring a smile to your face?
There is a new “Flag of Honor” flying over the bench and memorial statue at Hemenway Landing honoring a man from Eastham who died on 9/11.
“The ‘Flag Of Honor’ has been created with the sincerest intentions of honoring the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. This flag includes the names of everyone who perished on 9/11: on all of the planes, at Shanksville, PA, the Pentagon and the World Trade Center.”
May you find peace and love and a few minutes today to honor all those who died on 9/11 and their families.
We were so surprised to see 2 seals swimming about in Arey’s Pond. We thought it must be a fluke, but we’ve seen them there several times now. That’s a long swim from the ocean through Pleasant Bay and Little Pleasant Bay and down the river to Arey’s Pond.
Sometimes when you walk on the beach in the early evening, you might have the beach all to yourself. It was so pretty this evening with the sun starting to set at Boat Meadow Beach.
